Bowlins from NC to AL

I am the descendant of a Thomas C. Bowlin (don't know his parents' names), who was married to a Lydia Sheffield. Thomas was from a place called South Pines, North Carolina. Their children were Pricilla, Rhoda, Isham, Robert, William, Thomas, Lafayette, John, and James.

Of course, I have to go back several generations to reach these Bowlins who settled in St. Clair County, Alabama, but I guess that still makes me a relative.

Any idea about this South Pines, North Carolina?
