My direct line is Thomas Jefferson Bowling -brother of Russell. These two lines are
closely connected!! Have not been able to
validate Russell's marriage to either Nancy
Burns or Nancy Reams(need help here).
He married Julia Broughton Hammons 15
March 1832 in Clay Co., KY. She had been
married to Jeremiah Hammonds and had 2
sons, William and John. Both of these boys married daughters of Thomas Jefferson Bowling. John married Mary
Polly Bowling 21 Oct 1831 in Clay Co.,KY
and Sarah Sally Bowling married William
Hammonds 30 Jan. 1850 under the name
of Polly Cox. Unsolved mystery: 3 of the
children of Thomas Jefferson Bowling
married under the name of Cox.
Russell died 06-15-1859 in Clay Co., KY.
Death certificate shows his parents to be
William and Sally Bowling. Hope this helps
you. Perhaps you can tell me where Russell Bowling is buried!
