I am not a member of the family but the name is known. Try looking for the Bowlby family in Warren (formerly Sussex) County, New Jersey. The Bowlbys are one of the first settlers in Old Mansfield-Woodhouse Township (now Mansfield). The family gave the land for the fist area church. It was a loog cabin and was known as the Woodhouse. I was told the family came from Mansfield, England and thats how the area came to be known as Mansfield Woodhouse. Many of the families in this area moved to Pa. A large group settling in the Scranton Area, including the Scrantons.
Books to look at are the History of Sussex and Warren County, New Jersey by Snell and the History of Northwestern New Jersey, by Cummins. Both should be available through the LDS. Good Hunting!
