I find the following info on an 1880 image for Jefferson, Frederick, MD:
HARRIET BOWIE
STEPHEN BOWIE
SUSAN WHEDEN
RICHARD WHEDEN
JOHN BOWIE
Would like to know how the two surnames (BOWIE/WHEDEN) are
connected.
All are listed as Black.
