Ruth, if you haven't found it yet, Bradford Bowie and wife Melissa are in Weare, Hillsboro Co., NH on the 1880 census. Wilfred Irving might have been born there, thus family records in that area. You might try to follow the names back. They will lead you into Mass, Truro on Cape Cod, where the family settled before 1743. George appears the first on record, or at least, the first recorded in Leola Bowie (Chaplin) Ellis' "George Bowie of Sterlingshire, Scotland and Boston and Truro Mass." Several Alexanders given in the book over the years but none with wife you named. Of course, there are some with no wife given. Happy hunting. If I can help more, let me know. Joyce
