Hi Linda:
I am also researching George Washington Bowie and he did have a son named Nimrod. In fact, he had several children by two different wives, one being Catherine A. Mason. As far as I know, he never lived in North Carolina but was born in VA and was buried in Licking, Ohio. Supposedly he is of the infamous Bowie family from Maryland. Do you have any more information about him since you last posted?
