Robert Bowie Wadsworth (aka Wardsworth)was born July 12, 1857 to William L. and Rosa Bowie Wardsworth at Decatur, Georgia. Rosa was the daughter of Gen. John Bowie and Jane Eliza Hamilton. Gen. John was the son of Andrew Bowie and Rosey Anne Watt. Andrew was the son of Maj. John Bowie of Abbeville, SC and his wife Rosa Reid. The reference for this is THE BOWIES AND THEIR KINDRED by Walter Worthington Bowie, reprinted in 1971.
