Hello,
I am a descendant of Bowies who were born in SC then settled in Lauderdale Co. AL. Some of them ended up in Alcorn Co. (old Tishomingo Co.) MS.
My ggrandmother was Martha Eliz. Bowie b. MS. She had no brothers but five sisters: Margaret, Mary, Sarah, Nancy, and Louisa ( or Ellen) born to Charles W. and Eliza (Romine) Bowie. Charles had a brother Thomas and sisters Elizabeth, Catherine, Sarah, Nancy and Margaret.
Can you give any more details regarding locations, names, dates, etc.? Sounds like there's a possibility of a connection here. If so, I have a fair amount of info on these people and related families, and know of other descendants who are researching them.
