I am looking for information about Jacob Bower(s). I have completely hit a wall and cannot get beyond this point.

All census records show Jacob as having spelled his last name as Bowers, but his headstone is Bower and every generation after has been spelled Bower. The census records also state that both his parents were also born in Maryland.
