Anyone have any information on Maxwell Bowers? He's also listed as Maxey and sometimes Max. Anyone know anything about him or descended from him? I can find nothing on him after 1801. I find his wife in Wilson Co., TN later without him. Did he die on the way to TN? Was he married before? Who are his parents? Any clues?
Here are a few entries on him:
Nancy Eason must have married Max Bowers in 1797 as she is shown as Nancy Bowers in her father's Will. Max and Nancy migrated to TN sometime after the 1800 census. In the 1800 census, they are still in Nash Co.
In 1798, Max bought 150 acres on White Oak Swamp, Nash Co., NC. He and Nancy sold this land in 1800.
In 1801, MAX BOWERS is approved Guardian to MARGARET, IRA ELLIS EASON, ELI AVERIT, & JOHN SMITH. Eason, who entered into bond of 50 p. each with Wm Eason & Richd Eason Secuy. From book: Nash Co. NC Court Min., Vol. IV, 1801-1804, abstracted by Thomas W. Rackley, 1994.
