Some of this information may be wrong and you may have come across data that corrects this from myself in the past but I am looking for help since I have lost most of my research written, electronic, and it's various backup media. This is what family has been able to pull for me from past correspondence to them and I hope that another BOWERMAN researcher can get me back into the hunt with correct information and clues to re-follow on my branch: Gideon BOWERMAN married about 1860 to a woman of unknown surname, Sarah Jane in Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada ASHER A. BOWERMAN b. abt 1861 around Hallowell Twp, Prince Edward Co, Canada. . Asher possible middle name, August, d: March 08, 1906 Rochester, Monroe County, New York He m. Isabella "Blanche" WALLACE b. about 1867 in Canada. They produced two children in Bloomfield and all four in September 1898 emigrated from Picton, Canada to New York on the railroad although Asher had travelled between New York and Canada for work for a few years prior to this. Asher left (England?) to find work according to my Grandfather, and was a Choir director at one point in his life. {Isabella most likely was a relation to the woman who ran a boarding house where he stayed when in Rochester.} Isabella d: 1933 (end of July) Rochester, Monroe Co.,NY Their daughter, Bessie May Bowerman never became a US citizen, never married, and had no children. b: June 19, 1889 Bloomfield, CANADA d: December 1984 Rochester, Monroe Co., NY, USA [very religious- 7th day Adventist?] Their son, Albert Gideon BOWERMAN [b: Abt 1885 Bloomfield, Canada d: May 05, 1954 County Hospital: Rochester, Monroe Co.,NY,USA ] m. Marjorie HOUSE in 1912, [b: 1886 Tupper Lake, Franklin Co., NY (Forestburg?) m: 1912 d: 1986 FL] which I assume happened in New York and had a single son born 1913 in Rochester. Albert was a music and voice teacher who naturalized Rochester in 1914. He may also have played some type of wind instrument in a local marching band. Albert's obituary mentions that he was survived by one Aunt, Margaret Tabor, of Palmyra, New York. {My father does not recognize this name.} Albert was a member of the Maccabees. My dad recalls Albert taking him on a coal barge out of the Port of Rochester, crossing Lake Ontario and Bowerman’s coming in cars to visit them at Cobourg, Ontario when he was a kid. His marriage to Marjorie was not a well matched one – Marjorie took her son and lived on her own for many years. A LITTLE DIFFERENT PEDIGREE: Gideon BOWERMAN b. Picton, Canada m. Sarah Jane CORNELL (sic) b. Canada named a son, Asher Augustine BOWERMAN b. 1860 Athens, possibly on May 6th m. 1882 Hallowell Twp, Prince Edward Co, Ontario, Canada to Blanche Isabelle WALLACE b. about 1867 Asher and Blanche BOWERMAN had two children - Albert Gideon BOWERMAN b. 6 Feb 1885 Bloomfield, Hallowell Twp, Prince Edward Co., Ontario, Canada m. 1912 Marjorie HOUSE b. 8 Apr 1886 North Elba, Clinton County, NY, USA Marriage produced one son born 1913, Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. Bessie May BOWERMAN b. 19 Jun 1889 Bloomfield, Hallowell Twp, Prince Edward Co., Canada m. never married, never had children Notify Administrator about this message?
