My great grandfather was Sam Bower, born Nov 1850 in Texas. He married Mary Ann Landtroop about 1878. She was born abt 1855 in Texas. I found them on the 1900 census for Red River county in Northeast Texas. This census shows Sam’s father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Alabama. I believe Mary Ann’s parents were Stith Jackson Landtroop (born Abt. 1829 in Limestone County, Alabama) and Eliza J Frunk (born Abt. 1836 in Alabama). Mary Ann died giving birth to my grandmother, Ida Lillian Omega Bower in 1903, Red River Co. I would like to know about my Bower family but information on the Landtroops or Frunks would also be appreciated. I would also like to find photos, if possible. I have a picture of Sam and Mary Ann Bower, with children, that was taken about 1883. I’d be happy to share it with anyone interested.
