I am connected to the Bowen's of Foxboro, Raynham, Taunton, possibly Rehoboth. My great grandmother was Doraetta Bowen, b. 27 Apr 1867, Foxboro, dau. of George W. Bowen and Phebe A. Tucker. Years ago from the Commonwealth of MA, I was sent info on Doraetta's birth and I was told that Phebe A. Gacher, was her mother. And most recently from the GEN MA list, I was informed the record is garbled and her maiden is Tucker. I have also been informed from the NEGHS records, George W. Bowen, is the son of Hiram Bowen and Philena Howard, that Hiram is the son of Ephraim Bowen and Rhoda of Rehoboth, per Hiram's death record of 16 Jun 1875. I do not know the children from the union of Hiram and Philena, however from the records of NEGHS, I was told Hiram Bowen 2m. was to Mary A. Smith 28 Nov 1863, Raynham, MA. That Mary A. Smith is the dau. of Stephen and Mary Smith. Also unknown children of the union of Hiram Bowen & Mary A. Smith either. I was told George W. Bowen of Norton age 27, (b Raynham), son of Hiram marries Phebe Tucker, aged 18 of Norton (b. Taunton) daughter of Ephraim and Sophronia Tucker, 17 Sep 1865. And I know of many George Bowen's 1800-1880, from Bristol County, as being Mulatto or Black or White. All indications of my Bowen line are White. Could sks, please set me straight. Volunteers have been a tremendous help and I appreciate your time.....Doc drdocyoung.com/pereira-cardoso.html Always Paying it Forward Notify Administrator about this message?
