Adding to the previous response, George was probably the son of William H. Bowen and wife Harriet Patten, who married in Lumpkin Co. GA on 4 Oct, 1847. William was the son of Thomas Ray Bowen and his wife Elizabeth Hunt, who came to the Shoal Creek area from SC. My husband is descended from another son of Thomas and Elizabeth. 1860 White Co., Georgia, Mt.
