Rufus G. Bowen, son of J.G. and Helen Bowen, was born in Pembroke, Genesee Co., NY, in 1817, and married MARY GUILES, daughter of Walter and Effa Guiles, of Bennington, Wyoming Co., NY. Mr. Bowen, who has been a farmer most of his life, moved to Attica, Wyoming Co.,NY in 1856, and from there to Bennington, Wyoming Co.,NY, in 1879. He was assessor in the town of Attica, NY, twelve years.
