I have posted what I have of the first journal online.The journal was written from 1907-1910 and covers alot of family history from 1816 on. I ride with my son who is a long haul trucker so it may take time to answer any e-mails. Mary Margaret Persinger was born in Botetourt County in 1858 and grew up in both Botetourt and the Rich Patch andPotts Creek areas of Alleghany County. She was my greatgrandmother and her son James was my grandfather and his son Amos was my father. I am 71 so I knew a few of the people mentioned in the journal but have no idea who many of them were. Mary Margaret died in 1918 or 1919 but I do not know where she died or where she is buried. Her sister died the same year. My grandfather died before I was born and by the time the journal was found by my aunt in 1982 most of the people who could help identify many of those listed had died and her mind was no longer clear enough to be of much help. I would like to have more information on the Bowens mentioned in the journal and the events that they took part in. If anyone has any additional information on the people mentioned or any of the events listed I would love to have it.
