Roger H. Bowen, 76, Rockford, IL, formally of Lake Bluff, IL, died on Dec. 22, 2007, at P.A. Peterson Lutheran Home, in Rockford, IL. Roger was born on June 22, 1931, to Hubert and Isabelle, nee Jukes, in Milwaukee, WI. Growing up in Milwaukee, he graduated from Washington High School and Marquette University. On Dec. 27, 1952 he married Lois Jacqueline, nee Krohn, who preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1996; Roger is survived by daughters, Mary Bowen, Colorado Springs, Co., Ruth (Kevin) Mackin, Townsend, WI., Kristin (Lt. Col. Todd) Pospisil, Warner Robins, Ga., and Sarah (Stan) Kerr, Stillman Valley, IL.; and grandchildren, Leigha Mackin, Sarah Kate and William Pospisil, and Francie, Olivia and Lauren Kerr; he was preceded in death by both parents; loving wife Lois; and granddaughter, Tracy Mackin. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2008, at St. Anskars Episcopal Church, 4801 Spring Creek Rd., Rockford, IL. Rev. Andrea Wright officiating, and a private interment at Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 E. Westminster Rd., Lake Forest, IL. Assoc. Rector Wendy Lane presiding. The Cremation Society of Illinois, Perry Chapel, 6825 Weaver Rd., Rockford, IL., has been assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made at Orphans of the Storm (animal shelter), 2200 Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods, IL. 60015, in memory of Roger H. Bowen.
