I am looking for data about aone Irish Bowdren, Bowdran or Boudran family of which the coat of arms is "Azure with a golden band charged with three hearts gules" (Apparently one "William Boudran of Dublin is listed in the Judiciary Rolls of 1297 and 1299; and several Bowdran families were recorded in West Waterford and East Cork in 1659 (see also "Griffith\'sValuation of County Waterford, 1850)").
My interest is in fact in the relation of this Bowdren or Bowdran family with one French Boudran family existing in County of Burgundy (Franche Comté) at least since the 15th century and of which the coat of arms is exactly the same that is to say also "Azure with a golden band charged with three hearts gules".
Since the coat of arms of these two Irish and French families are the same, that means (or would mean) that they could be only different branches of one same family, and the question is to know where is the origin of this family : is it Ireland (where at the moment among the noted periods, the end of 13th century is the most ancient, or is it France where the oldest noted period is "only" the end of the 15th century but where the name is very close to other names of the considered area, Franche Comté?
According to this observation, there has been one emigration of one part, perhaps small, of the initial family from one country to an other one, but from which and when before or around the end of the 15th century ?
I thank you in advance for any information somebody
could have about that.
