My great-grandfather, William Bow,was born in Scotland sometime between 1862-1865, according to several different documents (marriage, children's birth certificates, 1900 census, death certificate - only 2 agree). He was the son of William Bow (b. Scotland) and Jane Harvey (b. India - according to Wm. Jr.'s marriage record; b. Scotland - according to 1900 census). He emigrated from Scotland to the U.S. in 1889 (1900 census) and married Mary Peacock ('Pecoc'- old Gaelic), also a Scottish emigree, in 1992 in Passaic, NJ. I also have photos of all these people - both Williams were quite fair, with pale blond hair, and appear not to have been too tall. Oh - my great-grandfather worked alternately as a carpenter/laborer/mason/slater. He and wife, Mary, were married in a Presbyterian Church.

Does any of this jive with what you have?
