Hi, have you checked the Ellis Island Website? or written to the clerks in Palermo for more information? This website can help you: http://www.anzwers.org/free/italiangen/free_genealogy_research.html Do you know where the family was prior to Palermo? Have you looked in the white pages for Palermo Italy and contacted anyone over there? Also: http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/database_links.html Can help you with US citizens and Ellis Is Info. FYI, my family is also from this region, I am sure we are related some how as our ancestors spread over the country (Bitondo, Venefro, Gerace, Fondi, Bari, Mesagne, Nicosia, Larino, etc.) The same names are handed down in Italy, so we may be related through Anthony.... My Anthony Bove was born 1647 and is listed as a noble and native patriarch of Ravello. Apparently, his geneaology was presented to the Assembly of Malta to prove his three quarters portion of nobility (which was from marriages to princesses of the Pisciella/Capua and Caraccioli families). Our family branch came to the U.S. in 1913 on the Ivernia from Trieste, Naples. His name was Constantino Bove (b. 1886) from Tramonti and prior to that Ravello (as far back to b.c., our family had founded the town). The information I have was researched in Italy, but it mostly contains appointments and land ownerships, not too much information on their spouse, birth or children. Maybe we can help each other? Email me at pbove01@snet.net I have a lot of other info too....family crest, historical info on Italy, specific towns, etc. Notify Administrator about this message?
