The mother of 8 children, 7 of whom are still alive, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Mrs. Rawlins was the wife of the late James Rawlins, who predeceased her 25 years ago. The couple were wed in St. Michael's Monastery Church, Union City, in 1883. Mrs. Rawlins, a resident of North Bergen, for approximately 40 years, blind, finds her greatest pleasure in listening to the radio. The former Miss Frances Bove, Mrs. Rawlins was born in Union City and was the daughter of the late George Bove, a pioneer resident of West Hoboken, who helped build part of the original St. Michael's Monastery Church, Union City. Mrs. Rawlins, twin sister of the late Mrs. Catherine Burton, is the mother of twin daughters, Mrs. Frances Cartier of North Bergen and Miss Catherine Rawlins and Mrs. Lillian Mahoney of Union City, Mrs. Theresa Schmidt, James Rawlins of Secaucus, Joseph Rawlins of Tenafly and Daniel Rawlins of North Bergen. 86 YEARS YOUNG .. Four generations were present at a family gathering in her honor. Mrs. Rawlins, wife of the late James Rawlins, was married at St. Michael's Monastery Church, Union City in 1883. Rawlins, 88, of 1003 Grand Av., North Bergen, died in her home at 3 a.m. Saturday of a heart ailment after a long illness. Mrs. Rawlins had been in failing health for 10 years. She was a native of old West Hoboken and had lived in North Bergen for 45 years. She was predeceased by her husband, James V. Rawlins. Surviving are 2 sons, Daniel of North Bergen and Joseph of Teaneck. Two other sons, George F. And James J. Rawlins, also predeceased Mrs. Rawlins. She also leaves 4 daughters, Mrs. Frances Cartier, Miss Catherine Rawlins, Mrs. Theresa Schmedes and Mrs. Elizabeth Mahoney of Union City; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow from Leber Funeral Home, Union City, with a requium high mass at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Union City. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 8 a.m., from LEBER Funeral Home, Boulevard, corner 20th St., Union City, thence to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church at 9 a.m., where a high mass will be offered for the happy repose of her soul.
