Kelly,
The Bouzanes of Newfoundland originated in the Basque provinces between France/Spain (Beausani). From there they went to the north of France (Beausane) In early 1800's they went to Newfoundland. Name was anglicized to Bozan around 1850's.All sorts of spellings since then.
First record is of marriage of Thomas Beausane/Bozan to Ellen Walsh in 1824. Believe to have lived first in Carbonear, CB, Nfld, then went to Western Bay, CB, Nfld.
Between 1878-1885 (approx.) all the Bouzan families moved from the Western Bay area.
I would be glad to hear from you regarding the Bouzane's. I have been researching them for 20 years.I would like to know where you fit on the tree.
