Anita

My name is Harold Burch, and I saw your email recently.

I am some part of the Boutwell mystery, and thought I'd contact you.

Unfortunately I have no new information from what you have, but I am wondering if you have crystalized the search any more at all.

For your reference, My GG grandmother was Elizabeth Taylor who was living with the Boutwell's in 1850-1860. Unfortunately her death certificate was no help in this matter as it listed both her and her mother as Mary Elzabeth Taylor. The father is listed as "Don't Know". I don't trust this however as her son William Steely seemed to make up information, and conveniently forget things from year to year. If this was true however Cate Boutwell would not have been her mother, but as I say it may not be accurate. Also I have never seen Elizabeth listed anywhere else as Mary Elizabeth.

I do have some knowledege of the Burch/Taylor families going forward if that is of interest.

Sorry I have no information to give you, but thought I'd write anyway, as sometimes one tiny piece of information can help bunches. Bernice helped me with several things.

From Bernice's email, below.....
Elizabeth (Taylor) Burch my GG Grandmother was living with Mary A. Burch in 1870.
Mary's husband Benjamin died of Consumption (I believe this was actually Meningitis), their 2 year old daughter Sarah died of Meningitis, and Ross Burch probably was Henry R. Burch Benjamin's son from his first marriage, also from Meningitis.
David Burch my GG Grandfather, Elizabeth's husband also disappeared at the same time, I predict from Meningitis also due to the proximity to the Benjamin Burch family. I can't however find any record of David dying anywhwere.

the interesting thing also is the Boutwell connection following, as Elizabeth lived with the Boutwell's. They may have been step brothers/sisters/cousins????

Here's another family connection that I can't figure out: Burch and Boutwells
On the 1870 Mortality census for Laurens Cty are some Boutwells that I think probably are related to the ones from Pulaski:
1472 Benj. Burch,m 4 (40?); Feb; Consumption
1472 Ross Burch, 8 Jan: meningitis
1472 Burch Sarah A Feb: meningitis
1472 Boutwell, Elizabeth 30, Jan, Meningitis
1472 Boutwell, Joseph 15, Jan """""""""
1472 Boutwell, Creasy, 5, Jan"""""""""
1472 boutwell, Katie, 5/12; Jan """"""""""
HH 1472 as it appears in 1870:

1472 Burch, Mary A 23 (Mary A. Fields)
Elizabeth 27 (my GG Grandmother)
John ?5
Wm S, 3 (my G Grandfather)
1473 Burch, Sarah, 30

Sorry I have no information to give you, but thought I'd write anyway, as sometimes one tiny piece of information can help bunches. Bernice helped me with several things.

Thanks for your time
Harold
