Your question Louisiana or France? Actually Francois and his brother most likely were born in Mobile [Alabama]. It was a major port entry in the 1700's. His father Andre Claude Boutte married in Mobile on April 22, 1746 [Love's Legacy]. 'Claude Boutte dit La Lime, soldier of this garrison (Mobile), native of (Bourseville?), parish of Notre Dame, Diocese of Amiens, son of Claude Boutte, master carpenter, and Jeanne Ferle or Ferte.
