I don't know if this is your Ambrose but here it goes.
Ambroise Boutte was the son of St Cyr Boutte Jr and Gracieuse Broussard. St Cyr and Gracieuse has Maria (abt 1898), Ambroise (abt 1900), Clarence (abt 1902), Luke (abt 1904) and Ezelia (abt 1907) according to the 1910 census. There is a family history posted that list the children as Albert, Ambrose, Avia, Clarise, Edna, Luke, Maudry and Mildred. The difference could be that the children not listed on the census weren't alive during the census. Plus children often interchanged using their first and middle name.
St Cyr is also spelled St Syr, StCyr, StSyr because most people in rural Louisiana had moderate education including census workers who often spelled name phonically.
St Cyr Jr was the son of St Cyr Sr and Felicia Legnon. They had Theresa, Marie (abt 1871), StCyr jr(abt 1875), Frederick (abt 1877), Loulou (abt 1879), Laurentia G (abt 1880), Oscar (abt 1882), Leanard (abt 1883), Lovenia (abt 1887), Nermie (abt 1889), Lionel (abt 1892). They lived in Patoutville, Iberia, Louisiana.
St Cyr Sr was the son of Eugene Pierre Boutte and Adelaide I Olivier. They had Thelshore, Eugene, Marianne, Eliza, Charles, Francois, Farcel, Hyacinth, St Cyr, Leonard.
Eugene Pierre was the son of Pierre Barnabe and Phiomene Fauchon.
Pierre Barnabe was the son of Andre-Claude Boutte, a White French man, and Fanchon, a slave he purchased from his mother, Francoise Paille Bodin. Andre-Claude and Fanchon had Claude, Rosette, Louis Hilarie, Eugene Pierre, Andre-Claude Jr, and Phillipeau.
