Natasha,
I wonder if any of your information ties into mine. My great grandfather, William Bouse, and his wife Catherine (sp?) left Ireland in 1865 or '66, lived in Wales for eight years, and emigrated to the US in 1873, where they settled in Pittsburgh. They had at least three children (Robert 1866, Annie 1870, William 1873) while they were in Wales and at least two more in Pittsburgh (Katherine [sp?] 1875, and James (my grandfather) in (about) 1878.
We believe that William was born in Limerick (Cork?) in 1838, and Catherine in Cork (Probably Kinsale) in 1849. William reportedly died in Pittsburgh in about 1882. The family then moved to Chicago.
Most of the unrelated Bouse's I've had contact with who have had the time or interest to determine anything about their ancestry are from Central Europe: Bohemia or Prussia. Those of us descended from Bouse's from Ireland or the UK seem to be a much smaller group.
I've been in contact with a Denis Bouse who lives in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. He's done some research on the name in Ireland, and says that there have been Bouse's in Ireland since about 1640. If I remember correctly, he believes that the Bouse's came to Ireland from France or Belgium with the Huguenot migration.
I'd be very interested in any relevant information that you may have.
By the way, there are two clusters of Bouse's in the UK, one in West Yorkshire, and the other in Wales. Aside from these, there are a few Bouse's in other parts of England and in Scotland.
Regards,
Gene
