Hi I have another scenario.
Charles-Raymond' father, Jean, was from France, born to deported Acadiens there. Charles' wife, Esther, was also a Bourgeois, and was born to deported Acadiens in the Magdelenes. So, they were married in cheticamp (home to charles and jean), had a few kids there, went to the Magdelenes and had most of their brood there, then went to Newfoundland. This information was given out at a Bourgeois reunion. Also I found this passage in an article published in the Evangeline newspaper in Moncton.
About 1855, Charles-Raymond Bourgeois, a native from France who was married to an Acadian (presumably Esther) came to live in Bat St George (which I believe is in NFLD). This Mr. Bourgeois died young, leaving some infants. One of them, Damasse, moved to St Pierre-Miquelon and was a captain. This story could fit too.
Thought you might find this interesting too.
