Hi I don't know if I answered your email but here goes. How do you know that the family wasn't there long. Do you know what town they went to on Madgalen Islands? My husband and I are going to the islands this summer and we wish to go where my husband's ancestors lived. It is difficult to know how my husband's family is related to the Bourgeois clan but we find it very interesting. We are always interested in the Acadian heritage and then, this winter we found out that my husband's mother's family comes from the Bourgeois and the Leblanc's Acadian genealogy. My husband dosen't speak French. I do but both of my parents' families are not Acadian. They went to the North of Quebec, then North of Ontario. We hope to meet some of my husband's relatives at the Bourgeois family reunion next August at the Acadian Festival.
