Charles was son of Barthelemi Durocher and Marie Broussard, and Marie Louise Bourgeois was daughter of Zenon Bourgeois and Marie Borel.
Marie Silesie Broussard, whom Bartelemi married in 1824, was his second wife; the first wife was Seraphine Bonin.
