My tree is on It begins with my biological dad Harold Matthew Burke. Grandpa, his dad, was Superville Burke. He changed the spelling of our last name because he didn't know how to write. It was Bourque. Camille Bourque (Bourg) was his dad. It goes on down the line from there until Antoine and Antoinette. But the interesting thing to me was Claude Dugas marrying into the Bourg family and being related to my grandpa who was not my blood kin when I was a child. This is all so fascinating.
Then researching the exile from Acadia plus the exile from Nantes, two different exiles, one tragic and the other passage paid for, was a learning experience too. The ships and passenger lists for the exile from Nantes is online. I wish the ships from France that Antoine and Antoinette were on was online.
I'm doing several trees, paternal and maternal, and learning some of my ancestors were union soldiers and I grew up being a southern gal. Now that is interesting! And some union soldiers are buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
