Bourchier-Bowker connection
Posted by: M. Willison Date: September 26, 2001 at 19:20:44

I need help understanding the connection between these two names. My information: Edmund Bowker, b. 1661 Dorchester, Middlesex, MA; s/o EDMUND BOWKER Sr. b. 1619 Manchester, Lanc. England, m. Mary Potter, Ellen Smythe, Margaret; s/o JOHN BOWKER b. 1574 Crows Hall, Lanc. Eng; s/o John Bowker.

In other places I'm finding listed: Edmund or Edward Bowker, b. abt 1610 Dorchester, Eng m. Mary Potter, Margaret; s/o WILLIAM Bourchier b. 1557 m. Elizabeth Russell.

My question: Are these the same people? -- or a different line? Did the name become Bowker in America?

Mary Willison
