Sorry I didn't see your message earlier. I have Joseph Napoleon Bourassa's (JNB) first wife as Memetikosiwike (my best reading of the handwritten Dec 1838 marriage record). I have their children as Elizabeth and Joseph. I have JNB married to Mary E. Nadeau about 1855, and list their children as James, Josaphine, Joseph, Mary, May, and Adamantinus. I don't have a Mary McDowell listed as one of their children. Their child Mary, born in 1861, was only 1 year old on the 1863 pottawatomie census and later married David Nadeon (probably Nadeau). Also listed in the 1863 census is a 5 year old Mary McDowell living with the family. I think that she is not a daughter of JNB since she has the last name McDowell at age 5. From your message, I believe you are saying that she is. I would like to know your thinking on this.
