I just ran across this from the Mackinac Records:

July 9, 1799, by us, the undersigned priest, the ceremonies of baptism were supplied to Léon, born October 9, of the previous year of the lawful marriage of Daniel Bourassa and of Marguerite Bertrand, residents of this parish. The godfather was Antoine Guillory, who signed with us; and the godmother Marguerite Bourassa,50 sister of the child, who declared that

This is from the Mackinac Island Records online
there are plenty of Bourassa's there.
Seems Rene, Daniel, Marguerite were involved in alot of baptisms as godparents and witnesses to marriages at Mackinac Island when they were there.
