Ron: I believe I have a copy of Phillip's birth record, I will have to search it out. The Saganing is an indian reservation in Arenac County. Catherine Bourassa, or Chay-qua is the daughter or grand-daughter of Mark D. Bourassa.(I will have to go over my notes) Mark married Josephine Chevalier, daughter of Louis Chevalier who was a french trader and trapper who played an important role in the settlement of Michigan. I have
traced all the Bourassa's from the Sagining. Mark was involved in the treaty of 1833 which caused the removal of the indians from Michigan. He and his family went to kansas, and came back in the 1860's. His son Benjamin served in the Civil War, came back and married Charlotte Cabay, daughter of Elliot Cabay the cheif of the Sagining band. After Charlotte died Benjamin married Julia Mix. I will get my notes out and check on the date for Lucy. I have a lot of the vital records for this family, but have not worked on it in awhile. Since I do this professionally now, I don't spend as much time on my own anymore. Donnie
