Thank you for the info on your husbands line. I'm sure I will have more questions when I have more time to sit down.
I had done some native american research for some years, with the assistance of some grants to a Native American center we had in Escanaba. As a result I have quite a bit of resources at hand but still lack some of the
real family history which as you know really helps put the puzzle together. I will give you the following on info I have in relation to my tree and your husbands.
My relations to Levi & your husbands line is as follows.
My Grandmother was Lucy Bourisaw St. Louis, Levi's sister. Their parents, Louis1 & Angelique. Still trying to find how Lucy & Levi's mother died (Christine St Andre)
Louis1 was Francis Louis1 older brother.
I believe Francis Louis1 married a Catherine Martin 1842
I am trying to remember where I finally found (Martin)at. The marriage is listed on the Mackinaw Cnty civil record book located in the safe at the register of deeds office, Mack Cnty, it too shows Catherine, illegible last name.
1850 Fed Census Mack Cnty, shows Francis living with Margaret 3, & Louis2 age 8, did Catherine die young?
Source-Andrew Blackbird Census near Harbor Springs. Louis2 30, Cloe (McGulpin) 28, Frank 12, Peter 8, Joseph 6, John 10, Patrick 1, all speak Fr & Eng. lived on 80 acres allotment,
3 acres cult, corn, potatoes, beans turnups and pease. also noted that Louis"wounded in late war on the shoulder and head, unable to do any hard labor.

Patrick 36, Traverse,Res- lives in Canada separated from wife Angeline Shomin.
Laura Obrien 25, husb Chas Obrien, Res Cheboygan. no children
Francis L 41, Traverse Band, Res-Sturgeon River Northern Peninsula. wife white
Daisy 14, Frank 12 note "has 6 children
