NOTE: CHARLES & ELIZABETH FARLEY BOULTON were among the first settlers in SMITH COUNTY, TN. They settled the area known as BOULTON'S BEND, still bearing that name today. They arrived in SMITH COUNTY circa 1800. On 15 APR 1830, ELIZABETH divorced CHARLES BOULTON. She named SARAH "SALLY" CAMPBELL as his mistress who had produced several children, out-of-wedlock, by him. By this time, he had vacated SMITH COUNTY with SARAH "SALLY" CAMPBELL and their children, and were residing in SHELBY COUNTY as husband and wife. Records show that "COL." CHARLES BOULTON and SARAH "SALLY" CAMPBELL were WED on 6 JUN 1830, in SHELBY COUNTY. ELIZABETH died single in SMITH COUNTY.
POB Caswell Co., NC.
