Okay.....I just checked my copy of the marriage certificate of William Shea (my g.grandmother's brother) and Alice Boulton. Alice is listed as age 21 (William as 23) at the time of marriage (1 August 1880).

Assuming that ages are correctly given/recorded, it would seem that my Alice - is not the Yorkshire lass. Intriguing though, seeing as her father is from Leeds. Perhaps they are are cousins?

By the way, thank you for the Census data. You gave me a great deal of new names and information and helped me make a correction. Certainly the Shoreditch tribe are the link for me (I'm using the 'Joseph' father, and 'engineer' occupation as confirmation).

(Just curious....I wonder if Alice met William the 'Bootmaker' through her sister Minnie the 'Boot Fitter'? :o)
