Hello Alex and other Boultinghouse researchers/family! Just some thoughts on this family. My idea of Hugenout origins comes from the fact that the name does sound "Dutch" and that many Hugenouts who fled the continent were welcomed in England. Apparently some settled there and some came over to the America colonies were Protestants were most welcome. Was the Joseph who was killed by Indians at what became Boutltinghouse Meadows (in modern Edwards Co., ILL.) the son or father of Capt. Daniel? I am most inclined to believe he was the eldest son. I believe if this Joseph was the father of Capt. Daniel, he would probably have been doing chores closer to the family homestead. A healthier, younger boy/young man would have been out in the brush dealing with hogs or other livestock. Also, do the math. If Capt. Daniel's father had been 20 years old about 1775 when Capt. Daniel was born, he'd have been pushing 60 in 1813; How many lived to that age in the American frontier? There are some Boultinghouse's who came to Independance Co., Ark. circa 1880's. They are associated with the family of Eliza (Boultinghouse)Dunlap / Pectol (and later Seward). But, who are they? Are they the family of Eliza's brother Joseph? Are they nieces or nephews from others of Eliza's siblings? HAS ANYONE TRACED THE MARRIAGES AND CHILDREN FOR THE CHILDREN OF John and Sarah/Sally (Hon) McHenry /Boultinghouse? If so, I'd be very happy to find out about John's children. I have Eliza's three children, but nothing on her siblings marriages and issue. Until Next time, Take Care. Dan
