Re: BOUGHNERS in KY. ?
I don't know if I can clear up anything or not but I can at least muddy up the waters.Acording to the book "Penn German Pioneers" by Strassburger and Hinke, Vol. 1,"A publication of the original lists of arrivals in the Port of Philadelphia from 1727 to 1808", It shows a Martin Bugner arriving with his two sons John and Henry(the only ones above the age of 16) on the good ship "Two Brothers" also on Sept 29, 1753.You are aware the original names got screwed up horribly by the immigration officials. My son lives in Heidelburg Germany and speaks fluent German and he drove to Ritzhausen to check our tree. The first thing he found out was that Boughner is not a German name. The original name was Buchner and they agreed many of them did immigrate to the colonies.I was planning on going to Germany this summer and go to Bod Marienburg to see what I could find but last years stock market has put that out of reach.Apparently Johnn Martin born 1703 had 3 more children after he came to the states and one of them was named Peter, I don't know the names of the other 2.The verification gets rather shakey this far back.Let me know what you find out.I had thought it was the descendants of Mathias Boughner that went to Canada,
