Hi Sheryl,
I don't know if you have this or not but Evariste was buried at Pointe Coupée, LA on 5 May 1860 (48 years) old). He and Julia may have married in a civil ceremony, which is why you might not find a church record for them. The year of that evern would be near to 1832-1833, since Evariste would have been born in 1812 (per death record) and their oldest child, Mathilde (married in 1854 there), if one subtracts about 20 years brings you back to 1834. They probably married the year before. As for an ancestry or birth record, I haven't come across one yet, sorry. You know the other children of this family? There was your ancestor Dorothée; Jean-Joseph m Augustine Anais Hébert; Pierre-Guillaume; Rachel m to Alphonse Edouard CORNU; Evariste (died 11 years old); Marie Blanche; Eleonore; and Isotel Evariste [all per the registers of Pointe Coupée]. Hope some of this all helps. Dennis Boudreau
