I was told that the name Boudreau was changed in to Boudreau in Canada around the 1800's and the X in Boudreaux that is commonly found in Louisiana is there cause most of the Boudreaux's back then didn't know how to write so the X was there signature and then that is how the X became Boudreaux that we know it today.
