Hello!
Perhaps I can help. First, the surname Beaudreau and Boudreau, while similar, are unrelated. Beaudreau dit Graveline is a deformation of the surname Baudereau dit Graveline. My paternal ancestor (and, no doubt yours), Urbain Baudereau dit Graveline, came to New France in 1653 and settled in Montreal (Longue Pointe). There is some confusion about his origins. While it is known that he was from France, it is not known just where? My guess is that he was from the village of Gravelines in the Département du Nord (French Flanders).
Today, his decendants (and those of his wife (Mathurine Juillet) are scattered throughout North America (mostly in New England).

That your ancestor, Laurent, is said to be from France in 1792, leaves me a bit perplexed. As pointed out, the original name was not Beaudreau, but Baudereau. My feeling is that your ancestor was not from France, but more likely from Quebec.
Should you want more info on the Beaudreau family, contact the Urbain Baudereau dit Graveline Geneological Society which is situated in Palmer, Massachusetts (I don't have the phone number, nor the address).

Hope this information is useful.

Bernard Beaudreau
Quebec, Quebec.
