Hi Caren. There's no doubt you and i are distant cousins, especially if your grandfather was born and married in NB. If i knew the names of Amede's father and grandfather and so on, i would be able to find the link. But that's not all! His wife , your grandmother's maiden name is gautraux... How interesting because because i am descended from the Gautreau (Gauterot) family. It goes all the way back to 1613 with Francois Gauterot who came from France and settled in Acadia. His daughter Marie Louise, who married Claude Theriot in 1661. Their daughter Marguerite married Claude Landry Landry in 1684. Their daughter Marie Josepte married Charles Boudreau in 1707. Charles is the son of Abraham, one of Michel Boudrot's sons and i am a direct descendant of these forefathers.
So i think it's quite possible you and i are related through more than one family :-)
Was also glad to hear you once lived in Niagara Falls. My family originally moved here in 1972 from Campbelton, New Brunswick. In 28 years the city has changed dramatically. I'm sure you noticed that on your last visit? Anyhow, it was nice to get your message. ciao, Denis B.
