Migration Routes from Montreal to Bourbonnais, Illinois
I wondering what the migration routes from Montreal to Bourbonnais, Illinois were. Did our French ancestors travel only by water, or was it a combination of rail, or wagon train? I imagine the families taking a lot of their possessions with them.
How long would it have taken then to make it to Bourbonnais? Two weeks? Was their last big stop Chicago? Could they have traveled down the Kankakee River to Bourbonnais?
