Hi cousins.

The web site that I lost with my old putter. Indicated a place of baptism of "a" Michel Boudrot, other than Cougnes. However the dates indicated that it could be our Michel.

Like you I had the information of Cougnes. However, as the old records there and in Larochelle do not go back far enough there is no confirmation of a birth there.

It is my understanding that all we know of Michel is from when he was living in Acadia. As letters to Paris, records in Acadia etc.

However if the old Acadian records are anything like the old Louisiana records. We might need to take them with a grain of salt. Here, Antoine LeRoux dit Lafleur noted in Louisiana census as coming from Castelnaux near Grace in Provence. However he was probably the Antoine Leroux dit Lafleur from Chateauneuf near Grasse.

Michel may have been born and baptised in Cougnes. However he may have been born elsewhere but have moved to Acadia from there. Or there could also be an error in the records.

I have not seen the original documents that link him to Cougnes to make a judgment call. Nor anything more about this other reported baptism of a Michel Boudrot, to rule this one out.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks all.

Dan
