Am responding to a post of yours from 1998, Hope you're still researching and get this.
Was your Josephine Cecconi the daughter of Francis and Annie McNeil? If so, I found their marriage (notice the spelling is with ONE C > CECONI:
Francis CECONI s/o John & Johanna; widower, 30y; born Poligna > Bologna, ITALY
Annie McNEIL d/o Neil & Sarah ...
m Sydney, NS (Sacred Heart Ch.) 24 May 1874
If you get to look at some Italina records, look for "Francesco Ceconi/Cecconi, son of Giovanni & Giovanna ..." of Bologna, Italy
There was also another Cecconi family living in Halifax (Thomas married to Annie Noyle) but don't know if they were related or not.
