Hi Raymond and all who view this posting, I am posting all I know about this couple here. Please do not ask me other questions on them as I have no further info other than what is hereunder posted. That is, I do not know when either of them or most of their children died or where, unless indicated below in the case of Norbert. Perhaps someone else can add to this info. Feel free to do so. By the way, no parents were given in their marriage record for either spouse. I have come to the conclusion supplied below on other evidence. Jean (John) BOUDREAU s/o Samuel & Adelaide Roy (per myself) Elisbeth-Jeanne (Jane) BEEBE (parents not given in marriage record) m Rg Petit-Rocher, NB [St-Boniface Ch.] (day omitted) Jan 1884 witnesses: Jerome Comeau & John Grant NOTE: Elisabeth-Jeanne (or Jane) married as "Adelaide BABY" (sic for Beebe) NOTE: This could be a revaliation of a civil marriage, as they had their first child one month later, or the child was well on the way, and marriage was the only solution to legitimize his birth. Their Children: (n = born/b = baptised; m = married; Rg = according to the registers of; d = died; s = buried) 1-Jean, n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB .../26 Feb 1884 m (1) Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 9 Nov 1909 to Philomene DOUCET m (2) Rg Grande-Anse, NB 11 May 1919 Flora CORMIER 2-Florence, n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 15/15 Mar 1886 m Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 27 Aug 1907 Jean DOUCET 3-Norbert, n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 19/20 Jul 1888 d/s Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 9/11 Mar 1913 (25y) 4-Helene, (Marie) n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 17/18 Oct 1889 m Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 25 Jan 1916 Clement COMEAU 5-Derilda, n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 9/11 Dec 1891 m Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 23 Nov 1915 Aurele ROACH 6-Donat, n/b Rg Petit-Rocher, NB 28 Feb/1 Mar 1894 m (place/date???) S. M Son S Feb 27 1884 17 As you can see from both the parish registers and census record, this is the same family. From the evidence of godparents to their children, I determined that John was the son of Samuel Boudreau and Adelaide Roy, whose other children: Sara, Justine, Marie, and Elisabeth (called Helene) all served as godmothers for the children of John and Jane (overwhelming evidence, I think), as well as John's own uncle and aunt, Isaie Boudreau and Marie Laplante, and also some Roys, undoubtedly relatives of his mother, Adelaide Roy. Going on this strong supposition, Samuel and Adelaide Roy had a son named Jean, born & baptized in Petit-Rocher, NB on 8/10 Jan 1882, one year and one month off from the 1901 census. His godparents were Benoni Boudreau and Monique Boudreau, his paternal aunt. Thus, his parents were the following: Samuel BOUDREAU s/o Sebastien & Felicite Boudreau Adelaide ROY d/o Laurent & Olive Johnson m Petit-Rocher about 1845 (I haven't found a marriage date in the parish registers) Sebastien BOUDREAU s/o Cyprien & Francoise Melanson Felicite BOUDREAU d/o Joseph & Isabelle Bujold m Rg Bathurst, NB 11 Feb 1817 Cyprien BOUDREAU s/o Joseph & Jeanne-Marie Hache Francoise MELANSON d/o Jean-Pierre & Anne-Henriette Hache m Bathurst, NB about 1788 Jean BOUDREAU & Jeanne-Marie HACHE m Rg Ristigouche, QC 7 Jan 1761 Am sure you can find the rest of the line from here back. Regarding Felicite Boudreau's line: Joseph BOUDREAU s/o Athanase & Felicite Orion-Champagne Isabelle BUJOLD d/o Charles & Marguerite COrmier m Rg Carleton, QC8 Jan 1792 Athanase BOUDREAU & Felicite ORION-Champagne m Rg Quebec City (Notre-Dame Ch.) 7 May 1759 Am sure you can trace this back from elsewhere as well. Use the online databases at Rootsweb.com or Ancestry or LDS Click Family Trees in top menu, enter in names, and verify the rest of the info back to Michel Boudrot and Michelle Aucoin (our ancestors). So this is all I know, and all I have on the original couple John Boudreau & Elisabeth-Jeanne/Jane/Adelaide Beebe. Please note that at this time, I do not have parents' names for Elisabeth-Jeanne Beebe, nor a precise birth date for her. Until that ever turns up, one has to go by the approximate date given in the census of 1901. Please also note, most census records are inaccurate. They should always be checked against the parish registers, with the parish registers taking precedence in every case. Have a nice evening, Dennis Boudreau Notify Administrator about this message?
