I, too, am not aware of the baptismal record you saw on the Internet. I can offer this information, however. As mentioned, the Acadian records do state that Michel Boudrot and his wife, Michelle Aucoin, were from Cougnes in La Rochelle. This was most likely the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Cougnes in La Rochelle. The LDS Library has filmed the records of this church, however, the earliest is only dated 1668, which is not early enough for either the birth (ca. 1601) or marriage (ca. 1640) of Michel Boudrot. I have checked other parishes in La Rochelle that have records early enough, but found no trace of either name. My conclusion is that his birth and marriage were recorded at Notre-Dame-de-Cougnes and that the early records for that church have either been lost or were not filmed. Will welcome any further insight into this.
