Kimberly, thank you for your interest in my Boudreau line. Alphonse Boudreau (b. 1825) married Cecila Allain in Will County, Illinois in 1851 (I have their marriage license). Their children were born in St. Ann, Kankakee County. Kankakee didn't become a county until 1853.

His brother Celestine (b. abt. 1827) stayed in Iroquis County, Illinois, while his brother Alphonse and his family left for Dakota County, Nebraska in 1868, by wagon train with a group of French-Canadians. Celestin BOURDREAU married Sophia DELORRIS on 8/31/1860 in KANKAKEE County. In St. Mary’s of Beaverville.

Ceclia's father was Michael and her brothers were Ambrose and Antoine, who owned the land that St. Anne stands on today.

I tried to find these Boudreau's brothers for years. I beginning to think my ancestors were born in a caggage patch. <grin> I have condcidered that the names they went by could have been their middle names and not their given names. I thought, it would be easier to trace them since their were two of them, but turned out not to be the case.

When I first started researching my Boudreau ancestors, I thought it would be easy, because I had a clue. I was told by my father that Lou Boudreau's (who played for the Cleveland Indians and was Hall of Fame baseball player) grandfather and my father's grandfather were 3rd coustins. Don Boudreau and couple other Boudreau researchers couldn't find a connection.

At one time their was a Lou Boudreau genealogy web site on this web site there was a story about Lou's ancestors. The story said that were three brothers who met once year at Fredric Boudreau's place in Missouri.....Louis who lived near Chicago and Charles who lived in Nebraska. So, I really thought that Charles was the name of my ancestor, but it turned out to be Alphonse.

We found that Alphonse's son lived Emerson and was named Charles Celestin, so the name Charles had to come from somewhere.

This is a mystery and I have so hoped that some cousin would reply to one of my Boudreau queries and fill in the history of my Boudreau line.

Thanks for your help. I check out the link you gave me.

Mary
