Dennis: Thank you for your reply, and also for information on back issues of Le Reveil Acadien - I will go to the site and order the one you mentioned, and I hope to find others of interest! My father was born in Memramcook, and I think he would be delighted to read of Isaie, a 3x great-grand-uncle. I did not know that Hilaire and Madeleine Caissie were married in Memramcook. I assumed he was deported (along with Madeleine Caissie and her parents), and they were married elsewhere. He was 14 yrs. in 1756 when his name (if it is him) appears in the list of prisoners at Ft. Beausejour (according to Lucie Consentino's site - I haven't been there myself). Listed are Pierre and Madeleine Boudreau, Hilaire, Jean and Joseph. I assumed this to be Hilaire and his younger brothers Jean born Port Royal 1749 and Joseph born ca. 1756. Also in the fort at the time are Madeleine (his future bride) and her parents, Joseph Caissie (Quessy) and Marie-Joseph and her siblings. (the names match all those on S. White's site). None of Madeleine Caissie's siblings were married abroad, so I think this is an indication that that family may have escaped deportation too. Therefore, your suggestion that Hilaire and his family may have escaped deportation makes sense (he couldn't have married Madeleine in France if she was never there!). I am descended as well from Vienneaus who also escaped deportation, and have been fortunate to have remarkable stories sent to me from a Vienneau cousin who found the information at the University of Moncton. Thank you for your willingness to pass along anything you find; I look forward to it. Kind regards, Pat Depoe Notify Administrator about this message?
